Our Team

Our team is a committed group of young professionals who have a lot of passion and desire to share their skills with the ones who needed the most.
All of our team members have been selected not only for their professional skills but specifically for their great heart, understanding of our program and joined ideals of a better future.
We all agree that this starts with happy, healthy and loved children.

Diana Suero
“Do your best until you know better, when you know better DO better”
I was born and raised in Lima, capital of Perú. Having a medical degree and a big curiosity to know more about the world had led me to travel, to see this beautiful planet and its challenges.
I decided to come back to my home country after almost 8 years, I came back to do something, to do better.
Now I have the chance to learn from my own culture, to share the things I’ve learnt.
To work with Peruvian children, especially high Andean children has been a wonderful life experience. It has made me believe in a better brighter future, caring and working with the stewards of this sacred lands have been an absolute honor for me.
I believe that mending the soil is the key to make sure the seeds we plant grow successfully.
I believe that loving and caring for these children will make a great positive impact to their lives, I strongly believe that loving and caring for these children will make a great impact to this planet.

Lucia Hernandez Pera
I am Lucía Hernández Pera, I am very happy to be part of the Sweet Child Peru team, my role is to guide the “movi- creando” workshop, where we seek that each participant discovers their own creative capacities, communicating with eacother from their own language of movement, exchanging their ways, emotions and moods.
Children let their imaginations run wild, this improves their public speaking skills, develop their confidence and concentration.
I have studied psychology, in addition to psrticipating in different artistic training workshops and other methods in the educational field.
Working with this project is one of the best experiences that I have experience this year, I wish there were more spaces for children in Peru like the one we are creating.

Vera Castro
My name is Vera Lucía Castro, I am an artist, Art teacher and mother of Yanay.
I was born in Lima but I have lived for almost two years in the Sacred Valley, a place where I feel very happy and thankfull to for receiving me with such affection.
About 9 years ago I dedicated myself to
accompany the learning processes of girls, children, youth and adults, through their artistic and creative process. I am convinced that art is a space and a fundamental practice in the human development of people and to self discovery.
I believe with all my being that childhood is the treasure of humanity, and that as adults we have
the great responsibility of caring for their authenticities and interfere as little as possible in their
journeys but to join them with respect and admiration.

Eliazar Ruiz Mamani
The children and the plants aren´t so different, with a little bit of love and attention they blossom.
I started working here 10 months ago, initially it was an opportunity to earn some money but as time went on i found myself enjoying my time more and more.
During this time, I have learned a lot, watching seeds that I have sown grow, getting to know people with different lifestyles or simply seeing the multiple smiling faces that frequent our garden.
I hope to continue learning, nurturing both mind and my plants whilst removing the weeds that my hold us back.

Jose Ignacio Juárez
I have spent 17 years of my life dedicated to discovering the path of wholeness, truth and unconditional love, in which I have experienced multiple learning, theoretical and experimental, as the core of my personal work and through the work I have done with others.
All the wisdom and knowledge that I have accumulated over these years are the tools that I use in the present to support and guide the development of the personality and consciousness of the younger generations.

Thomas Henriksen
Born and raised in the UK, I have spent the last 3 years here in Peru exploring the mountains and abundant knowledge that their inhabitants hold. My intention whilst creating the learning garden was always to find a way to deliver education in a way that is relevant and accesible to children of the Andes.
As for myself being in the great outdoors, getting my hands dirty and having the opportunity to work with these fantastic kids is a joy. On top of that i have to say that organic food grown at 10000ft just tastes better !

Tania Ocampo
I am Tania, music and english teacher in the Sweet Child team! From a very young age, I connected with music, always exploring and playing with sounds and with a special interest in the music of native peoples, which led me to study Music Teaching at the José María Arguedas School of Folklore.
I think that each human being is born and brings with them a unique musicality, nourished and enriched by their lineage and culture, and I am certain that in spaces where creativity and curiosity to explore are not limited, each one will be able to discover their own sound.
Boys and girls are natural explorers and bring great wisdom with them. I am very happy to accompany them in this process, with great respect, honesty and the desire to learn together!

Sarath Montilla
My name is Sarath Montilla, I am an architect and photographer; I have lived in the Sacred Valley for 2 years and as a foreigner, I feel that it is definitely my second home. My career has allowed me to develop projects with incredible people, understanding the needs and dreams that each one may have; but I must say, that in my walk, I have discovered the power of reinvention, opening myself more and more to learning new things.
I am excited to be part of Sweet Child Peru, because it allows me to see the world through a human perspective, understanding that small good deeds can be transcendental for society and the result is truly wonderful!
