“Do your best until you know better, when you know better DO better”
I was born and raised in Lima, capital of Perú. Having a medical degree and a big curiosity to know more about the world had led me to travel, to see this beautiful planet and its challenges.
I decided to come back to my home country after almost 8 years, I came back to do something, to do better.
Now I have the chance to learn from my own culture, to share the things I’ve learnt.
To work with Peruvian children, especially high Andean children has been a wonderful life experience. It has made me believe in a better brighter future, caring and working with the stewards of this sacred lands have been an absolute honor for me.
I believe that mending the soil is the key to make sure the seeds we plant grow successfully.
I believe that loving and caring for these children will make a great positive impact to their lives, I strongly believe that loving and caring for these children will make a great impact to this planet.
Janne Wolff
My name is Janne Wolff, I was born in Berlin and I am a social educator. I have been living with my family in this beautiful Sacred Valley for four years.
Since last year I have been working at Sweet Child. Working with children continues to be a wonderful experience. Being able to accompany them every week in their learning and growth is a great gift for me. On workshop days I also learn something new each time since each girl and boy carries so many unique qualities and has a lot to share and teach. Thanks to the entire Sweet Child team for making these moments possible.
Gretell Krebs
Hello, I am Gretell Krebs, artist and art teacher, I have lived permanently for 6 years in the sacred valley, where I have been able to participate in beautiful projects and connect with wonderful human groups, learn about their needs and dreams, which motivates me to learn and reinvent myself
I am happy to be part of Sweet Child Perú, which has allowed me to reach more local children and families and actively participate and contribute to this social change that they have been working to create better people and a better society.
Eliazar Ruiz Mamani
The children and the plants aren´t so different, with a little bit of love and attention they blossom.
I started working here 10 months ago, initially it was an opportunity to earn some money but as time went on i found myself enjoying my time more and more.
During this time, I have learned a lot, watching seeds that I have sown grow, getting to know people with different lifestyles or simply seeing the multiple smiling faces that frequent our garden.
I hope to continue learning, nurturing both mind and my plants whilst removing the weeds that my hold us back.
Luis Miguel Maure
My name is Luis Miguel Maure Huallpa, I was born in the city of Calca, I am an artist by profession and a dance teacher, with experience in some educational institutions in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. I believe that, through dance, children can develop new physical and socio-emotional skills, managing to generate healthy bonds with their peers and with themselves. As a Cusco native, I feel proud to transmit, through dance, a beautiful sense of cultural identity, of our customs, where children can take ownership of their history, making the community's traditions prevail over time.
It is a pleasure for me to be part of the Sweet Child Perú team!
Thomas Henriksen
Born and raised in the UK, I have spent the last 3 years here in Peru exploring the mountains and abundant knowledge that their inhabitants hold. My intention whilst creating the learning garden was always to find a way to deliver education in a way that is relevant and accesible to children of the Andes.
As for myself being in the great outdoors, getting my hands dirty and having the opportunity to work with these fantastic kids is a joy. On top of that i have to say that organic food grown at 10000ft just tastes better !
Sebastián Pillpinto
My name is Sebastián Pillpinto, I am an artist by profession and I live in Urubamba. For me, art represents an important role in society, as it allows us to open ourselves to different everyday panoramas. Through it, we manage to raise awareness among boys and girls, allowing them to have a human connection with themselves. I currently belong to a folk dance group with which I participate in various artistic representations of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. This experience motivates me to transmit to boys and girls the love for our traditions. At Sweet Child Perú, dance classes have become exercises for the development of creativity, teamwork, assertive communication and concentration. Without a doubt, it is a valuable tool for the integral growth of childhood and I feel very happy to contribute and be part of this project.
Sarath Montilla
My name is Sarath Montilla, I am an architect and photographer; I have lived in the Sacred Valley for 2 years and as a foreigner, I feel that it is definitely my second home. My career has allowed me to develop projects with incredible people, understanding the needs and dreams that each one may have; but I must say, that in my walk, I have discovered the power of reinvention, opening myself more and more to learning new things.
I am excited to be part of Sweet Child Peru, because it allows me to see the world through a human perspective, understanding that small good deeds can be transcendental for society and the result is truly wonderful!
Luciana Pérez
Hello, my name is Luciana, I am an art therapist, artist, teacher and mother.
My journey in accompanying children began almost 8 years ago. I started accompanying classrooms of 3 and 4 years old and currently I enjoy teaching infants and also adolescents. Together with some friends we created an Educational Community in Lima of which I am a part at a distance.
I really enjoy the game, the absurd, the imagination and the processes. I believe that art in all its branches helps us to transport ourselves, transform ourselves and continue to grow.
Accompanying childhoods is for me, taking care of innocence, play and imagination. Three things that as adults we sometimes see a little far away. In this care I also include the processes of each one and I consider it essential to see each boy and girl as unique and incomparable beings.
A little over 3 years ago I arrived in the valley with my family in a materialized dream. And I am very happy to be part of this team.
Alejandro Trevisan
My name is Alejandro Trevisan, I am a permaculturist, producer and guardian of seeds. I am dedicated to creating food and medicine gardens and I have a laboratory where I distill essential oils and prepare spagyric remedies. Taught permaculture and herbalism in schools in the Sacred Valley of the Incas for 15 years and it is a great joy for me to be able to share with children what I love to do most and I also learn a lot from the little ones who teach us to be spontaneous and develop our imagination.
I think it is very important that nature be included in education as the School of Life
